Don is President of The Thomas Merton Centre in Toronto, Canada. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of BlackBerry Inc, formerly Research in Motion.
Don is Founder of the Hidden Wholeness project which brings together his longterm interests of contemplative practices and social leadership. Over his lifetime, Don has cultivated , funded, and implemented several initiatives focused on the spiritual journeys rooted in wisdom traditions of both the East and the West. He has sought to encourage the adoption of those practices that cultivate a higher degree of sustainable and authentic humility and compassion.
Don serves as the Chair of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT and as Chair of Laconic Enterprises in Chicago. He also served on the boards of MasterCard Foundation and Yellow Pages in Canada.
